A Thermo King T-1000R Spectrum multi-temperature truck refrigeration unit, driving up to three zones from two or three remote evaporators. 10,000 W of cooling on engine power at a zero degree C box.
Multi-temperature distribution is the problem this unit is built for: one rigid body, bulkheaded into compartments or lanes, running frozen in one zone and chilled in another on the same round. The T-1000R Spectrum supports up to three zones and is offered with a choice of two or three blower remote evaporators, which is what determines how the compartments can be arranged.
Cooling capacity is 10,000 W on engine power at a zero degree C box temperature and 5,800 W at minus 20; on electrical standby the same figures are 6,300 W and 4,000 W. The compressor is the X426 C5, the engine is Thermo King's TK 376 rated 14.6 kW, and the electric standby motor is rated 7.5 kW with auto phase correction, available at 400 V or 230 V three phase at 50 Hz or 230 V at 60 Hz.
The unit is sized for box lengths of roughly 7.5 to 8.5 metres. Refrigerant is R-452A at a 6.1 kg charge, or R-404A at 5.86 kg on older builds. Condenser height is 688 mm and width 1,887 mm, with the S2 evaporator at 200 by 760 mm and the S3 at 200 by 1,100 mm. Weight is 373 kg on the Model 30 build and 430 kg on the Model 50.
