Description
A 2,000 gallon ASME propane vessel, horizontal carbon steel, designed for 250 psig. It carries 1,600 gallons of propane at an 80 percent fill and is available in above-ground or underground build.
Two thousand gallons is where propane storage stops being a household question and becomes a plant question. This is the size a bulk user installs when deliveries at 1,000 gallons are coming too often, when a seasonal load such as grain or tobacco drying has to be met without interruption, or when a metered system serves enough buildings that supply security matters more than the cost of the vessel.
The tank is built to ASME Section VIII, Division 1 with a 250 psig design pressure and weighs about 4,590 pounds empty, measuring roughly 20 feet long by 4 feet in diameter. Above-ground vessels are painted; underground vessels are coated for burial and brought up to grade. Larger vessels, at 18,000 and 30,000 gallons and beyond, are handled on our skid tank pages.
