The SG-5000 is built for the boxes that cannot be allowed to warm up: long intermodal moves, high ambients, and delays that no schedule accounts for. It pairs a high-output engine with a large-diameter alternator carrying reinforced bearings and high-specification rotating diodes, an engine-driven coolant fan, and corrosion protection specified for continuous marine exposure.
Fuel economy comes from two places: a more efficient engine with faster throttle response, and two-speed operation as standard, which drops engine speed when the refrigeration load allows. Scheduled maintenance stretches to 3,000 hours. The set carries a 473 litre, or 125 gallon, tank with smaller and larger options, and the controller handles alarms, monitoring and temperature visibility through an intelligent interface rather than a bank of gauges.
Emissions compliance is lifetime rather than time-limited. The engine is certified to CARB requirements for the life of the unit and to EPA Tier 4 standards for off-highway diesels, which removes the retrofit deadline that older Tier 4 platforms carry in California. Clip-on and undermount versions are both available, which matters if your fleet mixes container-mounted and chassis-mounted arrangements.
