Description

A Carrier PowerLINE 69UG15-068S-24 Series 24 undermount genset with a 2.4 litre common-rail Kubota engine. It gives chassis owners a full 15 kW and lifetime CARB compliance, with no later emissions retrofit.

For fleets that pull refrigerated containers through California, Series 24 settles the compliance question. Its Kubota V2403-CR-E4B is a four-cylinder, water-cooled, 2.4 litre common-rail diesel. It meets EPA Tier 4, and under the 2022 amendments to CARB's rule for transport refrigeration gensets it stays compliant for the life of the unit. Carrier puts the particulate reduction at 96 percent, the cleanest of the PowerLINE range.

The engine control unit holds rail pressure between 10,200 and 10,800 psi at 1,500 rpm with no load, and a glow plug relay preheats automatically when coolant is at or below 68 degrees F. Faults can be read with Kubota's diagnostic software. The generator is a nominal 15 kW permanent magnet unit, and FuelWise two-speed operation, good for up to 34 percent fuel savings against sets without it, is built in.

Tank sizes are 50 gallons (189 L, 45.0 in. long), 68 gallons (257.5 L, 58.5 in.) and 80 gallons (303 L, 64.3 in.). New and used sets run $10,500 to $19,000. Weight is confirmed per unit because the source gave figures that disagree.
