Description
A 30 kVA three-phase transformer, 480 V delta primary to 240 V delta secondary with a 120 V lighting tap, $3,100 reduced from $3,500. Reverse feed capable, DOE 2016 efficient, Energy Star labelled.
The 120 V lighting tap is what makes this configuration useful. It gives you a 240 V three-phase feed for machinery plus a 120 V single-phase leg for lighting and receptacles off one transformer, without a second unit or a separate panel.
Reverse feed capability means the transformer can be run backwards as a step-up when the application calls for it, which is a genuinely useful flexibility on a site whose loads change. Construction is ventilated dry type with aluminium windings, a 150°C temperature rise, 60 Hz operation, surface mounting and a NEMA 1 enclosure — indoor rated, so outdoor installation requires the separate WS58 weather shield.
A single 30 kVA three-phase transformer is more efficient, more compact and easier to install than three banked 10 kVA single-phase units doing the same job. Frame size FR912B / FR940.
