A modular 220 V to 440 V step-up transformer for refrigerated containers, $3,100 down from $3,500. Same 140 lb bracket-mounted format as the 230/460 unit, for sites on a 220 V supply.
Two hundred and twenty to four hundred and forty is the pairing for sites whose nominal supply sits a notch below the 230 V standard. Functionally the unit is identical to its 230/460 sibling: an 8/4 SO cable in 60°C-rated black rubber insulation, mounted on a plate and bracket, with a CEE-17 pattern receptacle and optional circuit breaker and high-voltage receptacle.
Sizing matters more than voltage pairing. The kVA rating has to exceed the load with margin — an undersized transformer causes voltage fluctuation under motor starting, which is exactly the condition a reefer compressor creates on every cycle. Field-installed kit part numbers are 76-00670-00 with the second circuit breaker and 76-00670-02 without.
Installation is a licensed electrician's job: mounting with ventilation clearance, correct primary and secondary terminations, a dedicated ground to the frame, overcurrent protection between transformer and load, and voltage verification on both sides before energising.
