Description
A narrow single-axle deck with a 48 in tall rear gate — long enough for lumber and ladders, light enough to maneuver by hand.
Fourteen feet on a single 3,500 lb axle is a deliberate combination: length for long material, minimal weight so the trailer stays inside what a mid-size tow vehicle can pull. Five feet of width keeps it inside the mirrors of most trucks, which makes it far less stressful in traffic than a seven-foot deck.
The tall rear gate is the distinguishing feature. At 48 inches it folds down as a ramp for wheeled equipment and stands up as a wall when you are carrying loose material that would otherwise slide off the back. It is spring-assisted, so raising it is a one-person job. Deck is pressure-treated pine over a C-channel tongue, powder coated, with D-ring tie-downs and a spare tire holder.
