Description
A twelve-foot dovetail with just a foot of mesh around the edge — enough to stop things rolling off, low enough to load over from anywhere.
One-foot sides are the minimum useful height and they suit a particular way of working. You can step over the rail from any point on either side, lift things straight on and off without opening a gate, and still have a lip that keeps loose material and small items from walking off the deck at speed.
The dovetail at the rear pairs with a reinforced loading ramp, which keeps the trailer usable for wheeled equipment despite the low sides. A single greaseable 3,500 lb axle keeps the empty weight down, on a C-channel tongue with pressure-treated pine decking, a diamond-plate fender, powder-coated finish and 15 in wheels. Tie-down points and a spare tire holder are built in.
