Description
A new 40 ft high cube container finished as a one-bedroom home with a rooftop deck, a tiled shower and a kitchenette. It is built for short-stay hosts and owners who want a ready-made cabin that only needs connecting.
Setting it up is mostly a matter of connecting services, and the plumbing is laid out for that. Water comes in through a 1/2 in RV hose spigot at the rear and runs through 1/2 in PEX. Greywater leaves by a 1.5 in PVC stub-out and blackwater by a 3 in stub-out, and either can go to a city sewer or an RV hookup. Hot water comes from a 13 kW self-modulating tankless heater rated at 2.54 GPM, tucked under the kitchen cabinets. The toilet uses 1.6 gallons per flush.
Heating and cooling come from two one-ton, 12,000 BTU ductless mini-splits, one in the bedroom and one in the living area. Power arrives at a 200 amp exterior panel. The insulation is closed-cell spray foam, and the makers note it can be changed to suit your climate.
The bedroom is 10 ft long, with a custom queen bed frame and 10.5 linear feet of built-in cabinets. The kitchen and living area runs 20 ft 9 in with a four-burner electric cooktop. The rooftop deck adds outdoor space without adding footprint.
