Description
A 5 ft DNV 2.7-1 certified mini offshore container, new or used from $4,500 — the smallest certified CCU made, in short, regular and tall variants, with a removable lockable mid-level cargo shelf rated 2,000 kg.
Deck space offshore is the scarcest resource there is, and the 5 ft mini exists because of it. It fits where a 10 ft will not, carries a 4,000 kg payload despite its size, and takes a mid-level shelf so the volume is used vertically rather than as one deep well.
Three heights are available and they trade differently. The short unit is 8 ft 8 in tall with 201 ft³ and a 1,550 kg tare; the regular is 9 ft 1 in with 220 ft³ at 1,700 kg; the tall is 9 ft 6 in with 213 ft³ at 1,980 kg but a higher 6,480 kg gross rating. Read the table below against your lift plan rather than assuming taller means bigger.
Certification follows build year: units made before 2020 are certified to DNV 2.7-1 with BS EN 12079, later units to DNV 2.7-1 with ISO 10855-1. Sling sets are usually a separate line item — confirm before ordering, because the container cannot be stacked without them.
