A 20 ft double door container — cargo doors at both ends, so the box opens end to end as a tunnel. New or used from $1,900, with a lock box on each door set.
The practical gain is that you stop unloading the front of a container to reach the back. Sort from either end, load from one and unload from the other, or fit a partition and get two independently accessed spaces in one 20 ft footprint — storage at one end, an office or a second user at the other.
Buying the second door set from the factory costs a few hundred dollars over a single-door unit. Cutting one in later means removing an end wall and fabricating a frame, at several times the price. Both ends get locking bars and a security lock box; everything else — 8 ft width, 1,172 cubic feet, marine ply floor on steel cross members — is standard 20 ft ISO.
