Description

A 20 ft DNV 2.7-1 certified offshore reefer, new or used from $12,000 — a high cube refrigerated container in an offshore lifting frame, built in Corten and Q345D for +50°C ambient service.

Offshore reefers do a job no ordinary refrigerated container is built for: they get craned between a supply vessel and a rig deck, and they hold temperature in ambient conditions that would defeat standard machinery. Certification is DNV 2.7-1 with a CSC plate, and the units stack with slings mounted.

Power is configurable at order — 380 V or 460 V, three phase, 50 or 60 Hz — because offshore supply systems are not standardised. Design temperature is -20°C with a -40°C design also available. Data monitoring, automated temperature control and ventilation control are fitted, which matters when nobody is going to walk past the unit for a week.

Class approval is by BV, DNV or LR. The 20 ft high cube configuration gives 33.3 m³ with a 9,060 lb tare and a 29,453 lb maximum load; a 10 ft version is also made at 11.86 m³.
