On a trailer this long the side gate is not a convenience, it is a working requirement. Twenty feet is a long way to push a barrow or walk a mower from a rear ramp, and there are plenty of driveways and job sites where you cannot get behind the trailer at all. A gate in the side rail solves both.

Eighteen inches of mesh keeps loose material in without blocking reach from outside. The dovetail rear takes the ramp angle down for wheeled equipment, and a reinforced loading ramp handles daily use.
