Four-foot mesh is the height that suits most general hauling — high enough that a load of mulch, brush or scrap stays aboard, low enough that you can still tip a barrow over the rail rather than opening the back. The tall spring-assisted gate is matched to it, so the rear closes fully instead of leaving a gap under the mesh.

The dovetail gives a smoother loading angle for lawn equipment and anything else on wheels.
