Description
A 20 ft container swimming pool in Corten steel, $11,200 reduced from $17,000. Twenty by eight feet with four feet of water depth, holding about 4,500 gallons, roughly 5,000 lb empty.
Corten is the reason the shell works above ground. The steel forms a stable oxide patina that seals itself rather than corroding through, so the structure holds its integrity outdoors without the coating maintenance a painted steel tank would need. The standard finish is black; custom colours are available to order.
Filtration is integrated. Optional additions run to an energy-efficient heating unit for a longer season, LED underwater lighting, resistance swim jets for lap swimming, and entry either as built-in steps or an exterior ladder. Decking and surrounds can be specified in wood, composite or stone. The pool can be configured for saltwater or freshwater.
Two practical points before ordering. The filled weight is many times the empty weight, so the base has to be engineered for it — a slab, piers or an engineered deck, not a levelled patch of yard. And in most jurisdictions a pool of this depth needs a permit and a code-compliant barrier regardless of whether it sits in the ground or on it.
