Description
A Thermo King SB-230 trailer refrigeration unit from the SB-30 series, running the SR-3 controller with a USB port for downloads and flashloads, and a 50 gallon aluminium undermount fuel tank.
The SB-30 series was the step in the SB line that brought the SR-3 controller and, with it, a USB port on the unit: data downloads, software loads and diagnostics without a laptop cable and a proprietary adaptor. Units in the series are also wireless-ready, so telematics can be added later either through Thermo King's own system or a third-party platform.
Standard equipment includes the Smooth Air blower assembly, the EMI-3000 filtration package with a five-micron filter and an exclusive fuel pre-filter, OptiSet Plus with continuous run, modulation and CYCLE-SENTRY modes, ServiceWatch and CargoWatch, long-life coolant and silicone hoses, composite exterior panels and a vibration isolation system. The electronic throttling valve, an ultrasonic fuel sensor and SmartPower electric standby in standard or high output are factory options.
Installation on a new trailer is a job in itself, taking a fuel tank and brackets, fuel lines, an air chute and a bulkhead as well as the labour. Factor that in if you are fitting the unit rather than replacing like for like. Condition and any recorded engine hours are stated on the listing; Portline covers new equipment for 90 days, refurbished for 30 and reclaimed as-is.
