Undermount sets bolt beneath a chassis rather than hanging on the container face, which keeps the box front clear and puts the weight low. The whole design brief is one thing: continuous, unattended running for refrigerated containers moving by road or rail.
The Series 55 specification is a proven 2.2-litre 18.5 kW EU Stage V diesel with an electronic governor, a new ultra-high-efficiency 15 kW permanent magnet generator, a 189-litre standard tank with 113 and 258 litre options, a 12 V DC maintenance-free battery with solid-state charger, and safety stops for low oil pressure and high water temperature. A large oil pan extends running hours between changes. Weight is 729 kg with the 189 litre integral steel tank, less fuel.
Ambient ratings are wide: structure -40°C to +52°C, running -40°C to +52°C, and starting -26°C to +52°C. Three model families are available — Series 55 (EU Stage V), Series 13 (EPA Tier 4 and CARB, with an optional engine emissions system for seven-year in-use CARB compliance) and Series 5. For US operation the Tier 4 / CARB models are the relevant specification.
