Description
A new three-horse Lakota Charger with a 13 ft short wall, a Glideout slide, and a 14,000 lb GVWR against 9,860 lb empty — a tighter payload margin than it looks.
Work the numbers before anything else. Nine thousand eight hundred and sixty pounds empty against a 14,000 lb GVWR leaves roughly 4,100 lb of payload, and three horses at around 1,200 lb each plus tack, water and everything in the living quarters gets close to that. This is a trailer to load thoughtfully rather than casually.
The 13 ft short wall with a Glideout is a full living quarters: refrigerator and microwave, A/C and furnace, a bathroom with sink, toilet and shower, fresh, gray and black water holding with a water heater, LP tanks, battery and 110 V wiring. The horse area is a 27 ft 5 in box at 8 ft outside width with 7 ft 6 in of interior height and mangers throughout, over an aluminum floor, on 7,000 lb axles with 16 in tires and a hydraulic jack.
