Description
Thermo King T-Series truck refrigeration units, the self-powered range for rigid bodies rather than trailers. Models run from the T-500R up to the T-1200R, single temperature and Spectrum multi-temperature.
The T-Series is Thermo King's truck line, sized to box length rather than to trailer length, and it covers everything from a small delivery body up to a ten metre rigid. The range splits two ways: reciprocating-compressor models carry an R suffix, and Spectrum models drive two or three remote evaporators for multi-temperature distribution. There is a model for one, two or three temperature zones.
Two design choices define the platform. The first is capacity at lower engine speed, which is what lets these units run quieter and burn less fuel than the machines they replaced; Whisper packages take that further for units working in noise-restricted urban delivery. The second is high ambient capability, with the range proven in field trials up to 55 degrees C, and an optional water heat kit that captures engine coolant heat through a secondary evaporator coil to roughly double heating capacity in cold conditions.
Refrigerant depends on the build and the vintage, with R-407C, R-134a and R-452A all in service across the range. Control is by the TSR and TSR-3 in-cab displays, which use LED symbols rather than text so the interface does not depend on the driver's language, with phase correction on electric standby and oil and coolant level alerts. Tell us your box length, your zones and your set points and we will match a unit from stock.
