A Thermo King SB-210+ trailer refrigeration unit built on the TK486V four-cylinder diesel, with the X430L compressor at 30 cubic inches and R-404A refrigerant. Available new or used.
The SB-210+ is the volume unit of the SB+ trailer range and the one that turns up most often on the used market, which makes it easy to buy and easy to keep running. It is a front-mount, single-temperature unit for full-length vans, capable of fresh or frozen work, and it takes the SR-2 controller with OptiSet Plus and CYCLE-SENTRY fuel-saving cycling.
Engine is the TK486V, four cylinders, direct injection, running low speed at 1,450 rpm plus or minus 25 and high speed at 2,200. Crankcase and filter hold 13 quarts, on API CI-4 or better oil; viscosity is chosen against ambient, from SAE 5W-40 synthetic in severe cold up through SAE 15W-40 for normal conditions. Fuel is number 2 diesel under normal conditions, with number 1 acceptable as a cold weather fuel.
SmartPower electric standby is an option on this model, which lets the unit hold temperature on shore power at a dock instead of on the engine. If you have electrified docks it is worth the premium; if you do not, it is weight and cost you will not use. Tell us which and we will pick from stock accordingly.
