Description
A 40 ft container chassis at $4,000 — a frame built to carry one 40 ft shipping container over the road, from a stock of inspected used units.
Forty-foot chassis are what move containers between ports, yards and job sites, and a lot of buyers keep their own container mounted on one permanently. That gets you a box that relocates between sites without a crane, and one that can be reversed to a loading dock so a pallet jack works straight out of it.
Chassis are available across container sizes — 8 ft, 10 ft, 12 ft, 20 ft, 40 ft, 45 ft, 48 ft and 53 ft — in tandem axle, wide spread, tri-axle and low deck configurations, with hydraulic tippers as a separate class. The one you need is decided by the container length you are carrying, because twist lock spacing is fixed and does not adapt.
The container is not included. Titling, registration and roadworthiness are the buyer's to satisfy.
