A 40 ft high cube insulated container, $4,500 from $4,800 — the insulated shell without the refrigeration machine, at 2,380 cubic feet and a 9,880 lb tare.

An insulated container is a reefer body with no running gear: the same foamed polyurethane walls, the same door seals, none of the electrical demand. It will not cool anything. What it will do is hold whatever temperature you put into it far longer than bare steel does, and give you a shell that is already insulated if you intend to add your own HVAC or cold-room plant.

The load ratings recorded for this unit distinguish food from non-food — 64,881 lb and 64,683 lb respectively — which reflects how these boxes are plated in service. Door opening is 7 ft 8 in wide by 8 ft 5 in high on the high cube shell.
