Description
A 2014 Sundowner 2HGN: an all-aluminum two-horse gooseneck with a dressing room up front, a 7 ft longwall and a 2 ft shortwall, for an owner hauling a pair to shows or trail rides.
Aluminum is the reason people pay more for a used Sundowner than for a steel trailer of the same age. It does not rust through at the floor seams or behind the fenders, and at a listed empty weight of 3,200 lb it asks less of the truck than a steel two-horse with the same gooseneck and dressing room.
The box is 12 ft long with 7 ft of inside height, which the listing puts at 21 hands, so taller horses are not ducking. Outside width is 6 ft 8 in, narrower than a full-width stock trailer and easier to place on a ranch lane. It rides on 3,500 lb axles with 16 in tires, carries a spare, and raises and lowers on an electric jack, which you will appreciate on a gooseneck every single time you hitch.
This is a used 2014 unit, so look over the floor, wiring and tires the way you would with any trailer of that age. It sits at the Greenville, TX yard.
