Description
A three-horse with an 8 ft short wall living quarters, a full 8 ft of outside width and 7 ft 6 in inside — recorded at 8,500 lb empty against a 17,500 lb GVWR.
Eight feet of outside width with 22.5 hands of interior height is a large trailer for three horses, and the mangers mean you feed without opening a stall. The empty weight is high at 8,500 lb because the construction is steel frame with aluminum skin and the floor is pressure-treated wood — heavier than an all-aluminum build, and stronger for it.
That construction is also what needs the most careful inspection. Steel and aluminum corrode where they meet at the fasteners, and a pressure-treated wood floor rots from underneath where urine soaks in and never dries. Lift the mats, then get under the trailer and look up. The living quarters carry a kitchen, dinette, A/C and furnace, a full bathroom, fresh, gray and black tanks, a water heater, LP tanks, battery, 110 V wiring and an awning.
