An 1,150 gallon ASME propane vessel designed for 250 psig, weighing 2,790 pounds empty. Built to ASME Section VIII, Division 1 and available in horizontal or vertical dispenser configuration.
The 1,150 sits in the gap between a standard 1,000 gallon domestic tank and a 2,000 gallon bulk vessel, and it turns up most often as a dispenser: the tank a bottle-filling operation, a forklift fleet or an autogas point works from. Dispenser tanks are usually specified vertically, on an I-beam base with crash posts and guard rail, because the footprint is small and the filling connection wants to be at a working height.
Design pressure is 250 psig, which is the standard for propane service in the United States. Under ordinary conditions the vapour pressure of propane at 100 degrees F is around 172 psig, so the vessel operates with real margin. The tank complies with ASME Section VIII, Division 1 and is pressure tested before shipment.
Confirm the orientation and the base arrangement you need when you order, since a vertical dispenser build and a horizontal storage build are not the same unit. Dispensing installations have their own siting, bollard and separation requirements under NFPA 58 and local fire code, and those are worth settling with your authority having jurisdiction before the concrete goes in.
