Description

A 10 ft DNV 2.7-1 open top offshore container — full height, no fixed roof, tarpaulin over removable bows so a crane can load vertically. 522 cubic feet, 4,630 lb tare. From $4,500.

The open top is the most-sold unit in the offshore container range for one reason: a lot of what goes out to an installation cannot be walked through a door. Long tooling, awkward assemblies and anything craned in place needs to come at the box from above, and the removable tarpaulin cover makes that a two-minute job rather than a fabrication problem.

Internal tie-down points, adequate drainage and stackability with the correct sling set are standard, and cargo nets can supplement the tarpaulin where load stability matters more than weather. Note the two payload ratings in the specification: the offshore figures are lower than the ISO figures for the same container, because the dynamic lift case governs rather than the static stack.
