Description
An all-aluminum three-horse bumper pull at 3,000 lb empty — the lightest three-horse recorded here — with a hay rack, 2 ft short wall and 5,200 lb axles.
Three thousand pounds empty for a 17 ft three-horse trailer is genuinely light, and that is the aluminum doing its job. It matters twice over: more of your tow rating goes to the horses rather than the trailer, and a 10,160 lb GVWR against 3,000 lb empty leaves over seven thousand pounds of payload — more than three horses, tack, water and hay will use.
Seven feet of interior height is 21 hands and suits horses up to about 15.2; seven feet of outside width is the current standard. A factory hay rack is fitted. Aluminum does not rust but its floors corrode at the plank seams where urine sits, so lift the mats before buying. Described by the seller as clean as new.
