Description
A steel two-horse with a pressure-treated wood floor, an escape door and a 2 ft short wall dressing room — 6 ft wide with 7 ft of interior height.
A pressure-treated wood floor is the oldest arrangement and it has a real advantage: it is cheap and straightforward to replace, board by board, by anyone with a saw. That matters because a wood floor in a horse trailer is a consumable — urine soaks in from above and it never dries from below, so the boards rot from underneath where you cannot see them.
That makes the inspection non-negotiable. Lift the mats, look at the boards from above, then get underneath and look at them from below. Six feet of outside width is narrow, so this suits average-framed horses; 7 ft of interior height is 21 hands. Steel construction at 3,000 lb empty against a 7,000 lb GVWR. Very clean, by the seller’s account.
