Description
A head-to-head six-horse layout on 29 ft of floor and 35 ft overall, running tandem 8,000 lb torsion axles with hydraulic brakes on 16-ply Michelins.
Head-to-head is a layout you rarely see and it exists for a reason: horses face each other across a central aisle rather than all one way, which shortens the trailer for a given number of animals and puts the weight distribution nearer the center. It also means every horse is loaded and unloaded from the same working space.
Hydraulic brakes rather than electric is the specification that decides what tows it — a hydraulic system needs an actuator, not an electric brake controller, so check what your truck is set up for before committing. Sixteen-ply Michelins are a commercial tire rating well above trailer-standard. A 4 ft short wall with a front dressing room and a collapsible rear tack, hay rack and ladder, drop-downs at the front and slats on the rump, an insulated roof, escape door, stud divider in the first stall, a rear ramp and a hydraulic jack. Recorded empty weight 8,700 lb.
