New matters more on a flat rack than on most containers, because the frame is the entire product. There is no roof or sidewall to hide a bent rail or a racked corner, and a used rack that has been overloaded shows it in the deck and the lashing points.
Twenty-foot racks take lashing rings rated up to 2,000 kg each in the side rails, corner posts and floor. Some carry forklift pockets. End walls are available fixed or collapsible — fixed gives you a bulkhead for bundled material, collapsible folds so empty racks stack. Overall external dimensions are 20 ft by 8 ft by 8 ft 6 in.
