Thermo King SB-Series trailer refrigeration units, covering the SB-110+, SB-210+ and SB-310+. All three share the TK486 engine family and the SR-2 control platform; capacity and compressor size step up across the range.
The SB+ line is a family rather than a model, and choosing within it is a question of how cold the box has to get and how hard it is worked. The SB-110+ is the light unit, built for dairy, deli and city delivery. The SB-210+ is the general-purpose trailer unit for fresh and frozen. The SB-310+ is the high-capacity unit, running a higher-output engine at 2,600 rpm for deep frozen loads and hot climates. A rail variant, the SB-310R+, exists for intermodal work.
Across the range the engine is Thermo King's TK486V, or the TK486VH on the 310+, four cylinders, direct injection, 34 hp, with low speed at 1,450 rpm on every model. Compressors are the X426L at 26 cubic inches on the 110+ and the X430L at 30 cubic inches on the 210+ and 310+. All take the SR-2 controller with OptiSet Plus, which carries a library of more than 500 commodity profiles, up to 64 loadable to a unit at a time.
SmartPower electric standby is available on the 210+, which lets the unit hold temperature at a dock on shore power instead of on diesel.
