A Thermo King SB-210 trailer refrigeration unit with the TK486V four-cylinder diesel, the 30 cubic inch X430 compressor and R-404A refrigerant. Offered new or used.
The SB-210 is the middle of the SB trailer range and the one most fleets standardised on: enough capacity for frozen work in a full-length van, without the engine speed and the fuel burn of the 310. Power comes from the TK486V, a four-cylinder direct-injection diesel of about 2.1 litres, running 2,200 rpm on high speed and 1,450 on low, driving the large-shaft X430 compressor at 30 cubic inches.
Refrigerant is R-404A and the control system runs on 12 V DC. In SB+ form the unit takes the SR-2 controller with OptiSet Plus commodity profiles and CYCLE-SENTRY cycling, and the electronic throttling valve is a common fitment, which speeds pull-down and tightens temperature control at set point. The standard fuel tank is a 50 gallon aluminium undermount.
Used SB-210s are plentiful, which is good for price and for parts, and it means you should buy on condition rather than on model number. Ask for engine hours, the last service, whether the charge is holding and what the panels and coils look like. Portline states condition on each listing and covers new equipment for 90 days, refurbished for 30, and reclaimed as-is.
