Description
A Thermo King Precedent S-750i trailer refrigeration unit: three-speed engine, an electrically driven scroll compressor for shore power, R-452A refrigerant and integrated 460 V three-phase shore connection.
The S-750i is the Precedent variant built around shore power rather than around diesel. Its architecture drives the compressor electrically, so a fleet that spends real time at a dock or in a yard on 460 V three phase runs the refrigeration without running the engine, and the engine hours that determine service intervals stop accumulating. For retailers, pharmaceutical distribution and any operation with electrified docks, that is the whole economic case.
The engine is the TK488CR1 four-cylinder, 33 hp at 2,050 rpm, and it is the first Precedent engine with three speeds: 2,050 high, 1,810 medium and 1,250 low, which lets the unit match output to load instead of stepping between two extremes. Compression is by a Thermo King TKSR151 scroll compressor at 9.4 cubic inches, or 153 cc per revolution. Refrigerant is R-452A at a 16 pound charge and system weight is 2,200 pounds wet with the battery.
The engine meets CARB's ultra-low emission standards for transport refrigeration units without a diesel particulate filter. TracKing telematics are fitted from the factory, a 30 amp battery charger replaces the alternator, and a 30 watt solar panel keeps the battery up. As with everything here, any manufacturer coverage that once applied is not part of a sale from Portline; our terms are 90 days new, 30 days refurbished, reclaimed as-is.
