A Carrier Transicold clip-on generator set, $4,500 reduced from $5,000 — a diesel genset that hangs on the end of a reefer container directly over the refrigeration machine, needing no modification to the container or the vehicle.
Without an outboard genset a refrigerated container cannot run on a long road or rail move. The clip-on solves that with the least intrusive mounting available: it hooks over the container's front face above the reefer unit, so nothing is welded, drilled or bolted to either the box or the trailer carrying it.
Output is sized to start and run an ISO reefer machine rather than merely to power one — motor starting current, not continuous output, is the specification that matters here. Current PowerLINE Series 55 sets pair a proven 2.2-litre 18.5 kW diesel with an ultra-high-efficiency permanent magnet generator and a single-winding contactless architecture, and carry FuelWise two-speed operation switching automatically between 1,800 rpm (60 Hz) and 1,500 rpm (50 Hz) with refrigeration load.
Stock covers new and used clip-on and undermount sets, all checked and CSC certified. Confirm the emissions specification against your operating jurisdiction: Series 55 is built to EU Stage V, while EPA Tier 4 and CARB are the relevant US standards.
