Description
A 40 ft double door container — cargo doors at both ends, forty feet of tunnel — new or used from $3,300. Tare 8,380 lb, payload 57,759 lb, 2,350 cubic feet.
On a 40 ft box, doors at both ends stop being a convenience and start being the difference between a usable container and an archaeological dig. Forty feet is a long way to unstack to reach something at the back. With both ends open you sort from whichever is nearer, or partition the box and run two independent spaces from one footprint.
Construction is corrosion-resistant Corten with welded tie-down points on both upper and lower rails, ten air vents for airflow, a lock box on each door set and a heavy marine grade plywood floor. Available on standard 8 ft 6 in and 9 ft 6 in high cube shells; the high cube version gains a foot of headroom for walk-through use.
