Description
A 20 ft high cube container, new or used from $2,100 — 9 ft 6 in tall against the standard 8 ft 6 in, with 1,320 cubic feet inside and a 5,050 lb tare on one-trip units.
The extra foot is bought for a specific reason more often than not: plant and machinery storage. A digger, a generator or a compressor that will not clear a standard 20 ft door opening goes into a high cube, and the 8 ft 5 in door height is what makes that possible.
One-trip units are CSC plated to a 30 tonne maximum gross, with exterior hinged double doors at one end, two locking bars on each leaf, two forklift pockets per side and a 28 mm marine plywood floor on steel cross members. Marine ply is 1-1/8 in thick and rated for forklift traffic. Optional fabrications include a roll-up door with lock box and R-13 insulation.
One siting note carried over from the delivery specification: a truck and trailer carrying two 20 ft high cubes requires a 100 ft straight line for drop-off. Plan your approach before the truck is booked.
