Description
A floorless 40 ft hydraulic tilt-bed container trailer on a 12 in I-beam frame with angle-iron skid runners, a keyhole tail plate and two 10,000 lb dual-wheel axles — the lighter, lower-cost build for moving shipping containers.
There is no deck on this version, and that is deliberate. A shipping container carries its own floor, so the container rides directly on 3 × 5 × 3/8 in angle-iron skid plate runners instead of wooden boards that wear out. The bed tapers at the back, and a 24 in tail plate with keyholes gives the container a clean edge to slide over as it comes off.
The frame and neck are 12 in × 14 lb I-beam, stiffened by a torque tube. A 12 V hydraulic pump works twin lift cylinders, and a winch plate plus eight 4 in side winches handle the pulling and strapping.
Two 10,000 lb axles with electric brakes carry dual wheels on 235/80R16 E-rated 10-ply tires and silver mod rims. It has a 30,000 lb adjustable coupler, two 12,000 lb jacks, a breakaway kit with built-in charger, sealed wiring, LED lights with DOT tape, and an enamel finish.
