2005 Sundowner Sunlite 2 Horse Trailer

Description

A two-horse Sunlite with a Rumber floor — recycled rubber and plastic composite rather than wood or aluminum — on a steel frame with aluminum skin.

The Rumber floor is the reason to look at this one. It is a composite of recycled rubber and plastic that does not rot like wood, does not corrode like aluminum, gives better footing than either, and damps noise and vibration through the deck. It is heavier, which is part of why the trailer records 2,800 lb empty rather than less.

Steel frame with aluminum skin is the construction to check most carefully on any used trailer, because the two metals corrode where they meet at the fasteners. A 2 ft short wall with a 7 ft longwall gives a usable dressing area. Twelve-foot box at 7 ft outside width and 7 ft of interior height — 21 hands — on 3,500 lb axles at 8,050 lb gross. Clean as new, according to the seller’s note.
