Description
A 12 ft by 8 ft steel drying room cabin with fitted benches and a high-level fan heater, where site crews can dry wet gear and PPE overnight. It is behind a deadlocked steel door and shuttered window.
Wet waterproofs and boots left in a van are still wet in the morning. A drying room fixes that, and on many sites it is part of the welfare provision. This cabin has benches fitted around the room for hanging and laying out gear. A fan heater mounted high up drives warm air over it, alongside an electric convector heater. The internal surfaces are chosen to cope with damp: a sealed vinyl floor, wipe-clean wall boards and insulated walls and ceiling.
The shell is steel anti-vandal construction, with a deadlocking steel external door and one window behind a secure steel shutter. It stands on corner posts, so no jacklegs are needed, and it can be stacked with units of the same size. A fitted consumer unit, power points and fluorescent strip lighting are included and electrically tested.
Inside there is 3.41 m by 2.195 m of floor with 2.3 m of height, over 18 mm particle board. The door is 0.8 by 1.99 m. It sits comfortably beside a canteen cabin as part of a welfare block.
