Description
A new 1,000 gallon ASME propane tank coated for burial, supplied with a 6 ft 3/16 in. riser that brings the valves and gauge to grade. Usable volume is 800 gallons.
This is the standard bulk residential and light commercial vessel in its buried form. Once the excavation is closed the tank is invisible apart from the lid, and the lid is what keeps the regulator, gauge and fill connection out of the rain, the snow and the sun. Soil also insulates: buried tanks see far less ambient swing than tanks on legs, which is worth having in a climate with real winters.
The vessel conforms to ASME Section VIII, Division 1, complies with NFPA 58 and is rated 250 psig. The shell measures 41 inches in diameter by 15 ft 11 in. long, the riser stands 6 ft 3/16 in., and empty weight is 1,812 pounds. It suits a building of about 4,500 square feet and up, a commercial kitchen, a generator with a genuine run-time requirement, or a small metered system.
