Description
A 1,000 gallon underground ASME propane tank with a built-on riser, American-made steel, rated 250 psig. It stores 800 gallons of propane at an 80 percent fill.
Everything about a buried tank is a trade between install cost and what you have to look at afterwards. The excavation, the bedding, the backfill and the anode add real money on day one. In return the vessel disappears, the yard stays usable, and the tank stops living through every temperature swing the weather produces.
The vessel is 41 inches in diameter and 15 ft 11 in. long, with a 6 ft 3/16 in. riser bringing the valves and gauge to grade, and it weighs 1,812 pounds empty. It conforms to ASME Section VIII, Division 1, complies with NFPA 58 and is rated 250 psig. That capacity supports whole-building heat above about 4,500 square feet, commercial cooking, agricultural drying, or a standby generator sized to carry a long outage.
One note on this listing: an older supplier description recorded the tank as 187 inches long at 2,076 pounds, which does not match the dimensional data that accompanies the vessel. We have published the figures from the tank data block. If the exact shipping weight matters for your rigging, ask us to confirm against the unit in stock before you order.
